Josie is a lighting designer and photographer based in Brooklyn, NY. She received her BFA in Design & Technology from emerson college, and has three years of experience in lighting design for architectural, museum exhibit, and experiential projects. Additionally, she’s been a member of AgX film collective—an artist run film lab and collective for moving image artists in the Boston area with a focus on the creation and appreciation of photochemical films.
Her artistic approach is rooted in abstract collaborations of design elements—most specifically, light—and the manipulation of its dexterity, to direct the eye as intended. Experimental analog processes make up the bulk of her photo & film work. She prioritizes working with her hands and favors photochemical processes which make no promises of consistency.
