Josie is a Lighting Designer and Photographer based in Boston, MA. She studied Theatre Design & Technology at Emerson College (BFA ‘22) and now works as a Lighting Designer with Available Light—a studio specializing in Architectural and Museum Exhibition Lighting. Additionally, she’s a member of AgX—an artist run film lab and collective for moving image artists in the Boston area.
Her artistic approach is rooted in utilizing the collaboration of elements within design—most specifically, light—and the ability to create a world which allows its viewer a brief escape from reality through means of imagination. Experimental and alternative analog processes make up the bulk of her Design & Film work—she prioritizes working with her hands and favors photochemical film processes which make no promises of consistency.
